REFLECTION
Experience
Typography really takes time to come out good works. In my first ever
task, I struggled to sketch out various ideas to express words. I have
made a lot of mistakes in this three months, these lessons encouraged me
to explore everything deeper and influenced my sense of beauty in type.
With millions of dissatisfaction and irritation, sometimes I felt it
troublesome in my learning process, but I have to admit that it is fun.
Typography empowered my patience, and makes me notice details on things
around me that I usually won't pay attention on.
Observations
I observed that each tiny details can impact great. The letter's
positions, obliquity, serifs and more, even just a small adjustment can
change their overall image.
Findings
This was my first exposure to design studies. If you requested a tip from
me to work on design, I would say is to refer to seniors or individuals'
good work. I found out that it is a self-reliant progress to become a good designer. Instead of just on Independent Learning Week, learning independently everyday is a must, or should I say, designers must learn autonomously
everyday.
