Final Design Research Report
1. Research Proposal (Week 03 - Week 06)
We were required to select a topic of interest that is related to
their BDCM specialisations (UI/UX, Entertainment Design, Graphic
Design, Digital Animation, Simulation Design, and Immersive Design).
Next, we will focus on a specific research area (research problem)
within that topic.
We need to relate our research topic to main themes of either
Design Culture & Design Principles, Design for Future Making
or Social Design.
The proposal must include the following:
a) Theme
b) Topic
c) Research problem
d) Problem statement
e) Research objective(s)
f) Research question(s)

I first draft out my research proposal in a Word document.

Then I document them into Google Slides.

2. Critical Review (Week 03 - Week 06)
We are to select 3 research articles related to the research problem
that were published within the last 5 years. Then write a review after
referring to the notes provided in Microsoft Teams.
The review must include:
a) The article’s reference, written in APA style (p.5), 7th
edition
b) Summary of article
c) Strengths & weaknesses of the article
d) Conclusion

3. Primary Data (Week 06 - Week 12)
For this part, we are choosing at least one method to collect primary
data for our study. The methods are qualitative research method,
like observation studies, interviews, or focus groups, and
quantitative research method, such as survey by
questionnaires. Then we have to carry out the research to collect data and analyse
them.
The slides must include:
a) Recap of research problem, research objective(s) and question(s)
b) Describe of the selected method(s)
c) Justification of methodology (an explanation, supported by literature, defending your choice of method and how it is relevant to the research problem)
d) Sampling procedure & data collection method
e) Collected data and analysis of data.

Then I spent some times to develop and compiled all the documents and the final compilation of final reflection report was documented below:
Final Design Research Reflection Report
Instruction: The research reflection report covers the entire project, including the proposal, critical review of secondary research, and research design with primary data and analysis. It will also include a reflective conclusion to summarize the research journey.
Requirements:
1. A final report slides that must include the following (improved version if needed):
- Research Proposal
- Critical Review
- Primary Data and Analysis
- Reference list in APA style (p.5), 7th edition
- Reflection: Experience, Observation and Findings
2. A 5-8 minutes recorded presentation video
- The slides should allocate space for the presentation video.
- Face must be seen, real voice must be audible.
- AI generative tools for video presentation are not permitted.

FEEDBACK
Week 04
Your research topic is more about IT, you may need a lot of time to do research on it.
Week 06
Be specific when you write a problem statement.
Week 12
Good progress. Keep working with it.
Week 14
You have done all the progress, remaining the final report and reflection.
