Experience
Comparing to Typography, the most significant difference for me is Advanced Typography allows more freedom of creating. In the start of the semester, I was always stuck in a box thinking "No I shouldn't do this" "No I shouldn't do that" because there's a "typography" rules in my mind since the last semester. To be honest, I took a long time of pulling out myself from my set of rules. I have to admit that the passion of designing is still remaining but my motivation of working more (researching, developing, refining etc.) is getting lower and lower. This is making me using more and more time of writing a blogspot, recording my progress or even writing a reflection.
Observations
I observed that keep forcing myself to sit in front of the computer, thinking "I must came up something today" isn't the best way a designer works. I noticed that some other actions can inspire me better sometimes, for example sitting outside of my house after the rain, eating good food, listening to musics, watching performances etc. Inspiration doesn't come in one way.
Findings
I found out that the lectures and knowledge gained in last semester has become a very useful stepping stone in this module. I felt like its a long duration lecture class last semester, then the practical class this semester. The most unexpectedly useful knowledge point is kerning and tracing letters. I didn't expect I will be using it in almost every task.
